Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Piefold (the "Service"), operated by SOHUM.media ("Piefold," "we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Piefold. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are able to form a binding contract with us.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it current.
  • Notify us promptly at support@piefold.pizza if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

4. What Piefold is (and isn't)

Piefold is a platform for logging pizzeria visits and recording personal opinions about food. Scores and reviews represent the subjective opinions of individual users. Piefold does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-submitted content, including ratings, prices, descriptions, or reviews of any pizzeria. Aggregate scores are automated averages of public user content and are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.

Listings of pizzerias and their details may be incomplete or inaccurate and do not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those businesses.

5. Your content

5.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of the visits, items, reviews, and other content you submit ("Your Content").

5.2 License to us

By submitting Your Content, you grant Piefold a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service. For content you mark public, this license extends to displaying that content to other users and including it in aggregate scores. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already incorporated into aggregates or retained in backups for a limited period.

5.3 Your responsibilities

You represent that Your Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge, reflects your genuine opinion or experience, and does not violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or any law. You are solely responsible for Your Content.

5.4 Reviews of real businesses

Because reviews concern real businesses, you agree that your reviews will describe your honest, first-hand experience and will not contain knowingly false statements of fact, defamatory content, or content intended to harm a business unfairly. See our Community Guidelines for details.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is false, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, obscene, or unlawful;
  • Submit fake, paid, or incentivized reviews, or reviews for visits that did not occur;
  • Impersonate any person or business or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data from the Service without permission;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, introduce malware, or circumvent security features;
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by us.

7. Content moderation and removal

We may, but are not obligated to, review, moderate, edit, or remove any content, and may suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion — for example, if content violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or the law, or in response to a valid complaint. We are not liable for content posted by users.

8. Intellectual property

The Piefold name, logo, design, and software are owned by Piefold or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding without our prior written permission. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on Piefold infringes your copyright, send a notice to dmca@piefold.pizza including: (a) a description of the work; (b) the location of the allegedly infringing material; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized; (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act; and (f) your signature. We will respond to valid notices consistent with applicable law and may remove the material and terminate repeat infringers.

10. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to third-party websites or rely on third-party providers (such as our hosting provider). We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY USER CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PIEFOLD AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED USD 100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Piefold and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or for any reason with reasonable notice where required. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

15. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these Terms; for material changes we will provide notice and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

17. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, are the entire agreement between you and Piefold regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may.
